The AECT, Association of Cameroonian Students of Turin, is a non-partisan and non-denominational volountary association, to promote cultural, recreational and educational activities, and leisure.

Its aim is to facilitate the integration of new foreign students in Turin while promoting the culture of Cameroon in the territory. For the month of October, the AECT association organizes two evenings, 21st October and 22nd October, devoted to music shows, workshops and dances.

On the occasion of the centenary of the death of Gozzano, the Study Centre “Guido Gozzano-Cesare Pavese” of the University of Turin is organizing, in collaboration with other cultural institutions of Turin, the film festival “The cinema at the time of Gozzano“, which will take place from 4th to 25th October at the Cinema Romano, Subalpina Gallery.

The Study Centre is organizing a program of events to talk about his work as a poet, travel writer, author of short stories, fairy tales and Turinese prose, of essays on photography and cinema, of a film script; an occasion to discuss the figure of the author, who was often considered a provincial and not at all international poet. Moreover there will be also the projection of silent films of the collections of the National Museum of Cinema in Turin to recreate the atmosphere of Turin at the beginning of the 20th century .

There are four ITS courses in Turin: free two-year courses post high school diploma with a high level of specialisation, that will turn students into higher technicians who are able to fit in the strategic sectors of the economic-productive system:

  • Aerospace / Mechatronics
  • Information and communication technology
  • Agrifood – cereals and rice, beer and fruit and vegetable production
  • Tourism

About 540/600 hours out of a total of 1,800 hours of attendance are devoted to compulsory interships in companies, also foreign ones, and laboratory activities. This agreement is an international window to promote academic cooperation, collaborative research in areas of common interest and exchange of students.
A bridge between Turin and Shanghai has been built thanks to the agreement between Wang Rongming, Vice-Rector for Research and International Affairs at the East China Normal University (ECNU), and Gianmaria Ajani, the Rector of the University of Turin.

After having inaugurated the office that hosts officials of the ECNU of Shanghai in the seat of the Rectory in via Po, the University of Turin will open a branch office in Shanghai with Italian staff, who will be tasked to identify research topics of common interest and coordinate academic and administrative staffs.There will be student exchange programs, for periods of study of one or two terms, at first only for the disciplinary field of Physics, but with the aim to be extended to all other areas of the University. Also some projects of binational degree programs for master’s courses in Business Administration, Stochastics and Data Science, European Legal Studies are being developed.

For Chinese students who will study in Turin there will be a course of introduction to the Italian language, whereas Italians students in China require a good level of English.

BIOCIRCE is the first edition of a II level Master’s program in Bioeconomy, it stems from the collaboration among the University of Turin, the University of Milan – Bicocca, the University Federico II of Naples, the University of Bologna, Intesa Sanpaolo, Novamont, GFBiochemicals and PTP Science Park of Lodi.

This first Master’s Program in Bioeconomy in Italy will start in January 2017 and it is aimed at: recent graduates in Economy or Law, recent graduates with a scientific education path and experts who already work in this field.

The Master’s program will deal with the entire life cycle of raw materials with biological matrix from the production in different ecosystems and climatic zones, to the logistics and to the supply chain management; from the technologies for the processing into products and services, to their marketing and use. The Master will also offer members the chance to study and develop sustainable technologies, fostering the interaction of biotechnology research and the different business applications.

This II level Master’s program lasts 12 months and includes:

  • A study plan organised in 4 modules and split betwenn the sponsoring universities;
  • An internship of 6 months in a partner company of this field

The activities of the Intercultural Centre of the City of Turin are ready to start.

This year we have organised a rich program of interreligious meetings, workshops, seminars, possibility of internships and language courses for young people and university students, Italians or migrants.

For example, if you are a foreigner with a basic knowledge of Italian, the Intercultural Center offers you the opportunity to attend a free course in Italian Conversation, you can also get a certificate of attendance. The course program gives you the opportunity to have a conversation with two Italian teachers on various topics (home, family, work, your country, the festivals and cuisine in Italy).

Choose ‘Love to Ride – Turin Bike Challenge’ in September, the right way to go to University.

It’s a free initiative that is part of the European Project “Bike2Work” and which aims to stimulate workers and students to use the bicycle to go to work or to class.

You can take part to the race from Friday 16th September until 31th October: there will be two teams (one for students and the other one for teachers, administrative staff, postdocs and graduate students) that will be able to record all the tracks made through an open platform and an app “Love to Ride”, which is connected to the platform. The competition will be won by the team that will convince more people to use the bike for 10 minutes during the period of the competition.

The University of Turin informs students who are enrolled in the academic year 2016 – 2017 that, the annoucement to apply for scholarships funded by the University will be published within the first half of the month of October 2016.

These are the conditions to apply for scolarships:

  • Possession of the requirements of merit to get an EDISU scholarship, but with an ISEE between € 23,000.00 and € 25,000.00;
  • Failure to meet the requirements of merit required for obtaining a scholarship EDISU due to special events occurred (for example health problems, loss of a family member, job loss, etc) and with an ISEE less than € 23,000, 00.
