The Department of Culture, Politics and Society of the University of Turin organizes the sixth edition of the summer school “Understanding the Middle East", which this year is dedicated to the issue of identities and their politics. The purpose of the summer school is to provide useful tools to better understand the complexity of Middle East. The classes will start on June 17 th and will finish on June 21 st (included) . In order to be admitted you need to have a bachelor degree with a minimum score of 100/110 or you have to be enrolled in a degree course mainly focused on Middle East. A good knowledge of the English language is also required.

On the first anniversary of the death of journalist Mauro Pianta, his colleagues decided to commemorate him with the creation of an award in his memory. The contest is open to all Communication Science students from the Department of Humanistic Studies of the University of Turin; it consists in writing a text about a character involved in nature conservation in Piedmont. The most interesting texts will be published
in the magazine Piemonte Parchi, but only one will win the prize.
