June is Pride month, which means it is traditionally dedicated to celebrating the LGBTQI community, the rainbow flag and the different sexual orientations and gender identities.

On May 30 th , Piacenza was supposed to be the forerunner, and to start off celebrations in Italy. The series of marches and parades was supposed to end on June 28 th , World Pride Day. However, in the light of the pandemic and its ban on gatherings, in recent weeks events have been gradually cancelled, in Italy as in other countries.

But this does not mean that Pride will not be celebrated in 2020. In fact, over 800 Pride parade coordinators from different cities have decided to join forces to create the first ever Global Pride, a virtual parade to celebrate LGBTQI pride. The event will be taking place on June 27 th : a rainbow wave on livestream will start from Southeast Asia and Oceania, and will move following the time zones, crossing the many countries participating in the initiative. The event will last 24 hours, it will pass through Europe and arrive in America.

CAP 10100, the Centre for Youth Involvement in Corso Moncalieri 18, opens again tonight, June 18th, at 6 pm with the event This must be the place, featuring bartender Alessandro Pitanti.

Their calendar is always full of activities, so don’t forget to keep an eye on their Facebook page and their website. CAP 10100 is a place of cultural experimenting and innovation: from music, to theatre, to dancing. It is also the perfect place to study or work: on weekdays both the indoor and outdoor areas of CAP 10100 will be access-free, among them an open lab, a co-working meeting spot and an outdoor study hall with free Wi-Fi, overlooking the Po river.

These workshops will offer you the opportunity to learn how to study and write online or in streaming.
The first workshop will be on

– June 16 th and 19 th , from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.;
– It is titled “Raccontare la Storia” (Telling the Story), and is run by
author Annalisa Ambrosio;
– Participation fee is € 90 per person. The group will consist of a
maximum of 30 people;

In consideration of the end of the Academic Year is approaching, European Institute of Design increases its services to supports students, among which is decision to develop financial benefits for families. European Institute of Design has developed a plan to support its students and to guarantee that the quality of the courses carried out in the second semester remains consistent, even if they have been carried out remotely.

IED’s initiatives integrate what has been implemented by “Smart Schools”, and act on two fronts. On the one hand, they ensure that all students complete their course of study, without delays or learning gaps, also incorporating activities (typical of practical courses of study) requiring access to labs, software and equipment specific to the course. On the other hand, they have developed an economic aid plan to support students from families affected by the crisis and taken into account the difficult situations that have arisen due to the current circumstances.

In addition to those services, students also have the possibility to borrow materials and equipment specific to the course, which will allow them to access external processing services, such as the jewellery design course. This will also allow them to access some of the Institute’s laboratories and rooms, such as the recording room for the sound design course. Access will be controlled and regulated by pre-established schedules and turns.

On Tuesday, June 2 nd at 6 p.m., on the occasion of Festa della Repubblica (Italian Republic Day), go on dell’Università degli Studi di Torino, Politecnico Torino and Università del Piemonte Orientale’s websites and Facebook pages, where the tree Universities of Piedmont will be live-streaming a reading marathon inspired by the concept of freedom.

Professors, students, staff, and authors will take turns readings excerpts exploring the many faces of the absolute and deep-rooted value we call “freedom”. From Dante’s verses to Shakespeare’s plays, from Cervantes’ wandering Don Quixote, to the thoughts of Primo Levi, and finally the freedom in songs by Giorgio Gaber and Jovanotti.

You will be taken on a journey through literature, poetry, and music. At the end of the live stream, Teatro Regio Orchestra and Choir of Torino will perform “Va’ pensiero”, famous chorus from Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco.

On Monday, 8 th June, IUSTO (Istituto Universitario Salesiano di Torino) held its online open day.
Open days are a great opportunity to learn more about IUSTO’s degree courses, admission procedures, facilities, and services.

Students will get to know the Course Leader and University Administrators and meet students who are already enrolled at IUSTO.
The presentation of Corso di laurea triennale in Scienze dell’Educazione (Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education) took place at 11 a.m., and the presentation of Corso di laurea triennale in Psicologia (Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology) took place at 2 p.m.
