On Tuesday, June 2 nd at 6 p.m., on the occasion of Festa della Repubblica (Italian Republic Day), go on dell’Università degli Studi di Torino, Politecnico Torino and Università del Piemonte Orientale’s websites and Facebook pages, where the tree Universities of Piedmont will be live-streaming a reading marathon inspired by the concept of freedom.

Professors, students, staff, and authors will take turns readings excerpts exploring the many faces of the absolute and deep-rooted value we call “freedom”. From Dante’s verses to Shakespeare’s plays, from Cervantes’ wandering Don Quixote, to the thoughts of Primo Levi, and finally the freedom in songs by Giorgio Gaber and Jovanotti.

You will be taken on a journey through literature, poetry, and music. At the end of the live stream, Teatro Regio Orchestra and Choir of Torino will perform “Va’ pensiero”, famous chorus from Giuseppe Verdi’s Nabucco.
