The work made by Velasco Virali is coming in the Rectorate’s yard at Università di Torino. It will remain there until November.
Two naked men carrying a long shining ship, upside-down on the shoulders, keeping their heads inside, in Università di Torino’s rectorate.
This is a symbolic dialogue, a perfect dialogue between the sculpture and the University’s yard. The aim is focusing on the relation between the society and its path, supported and lightened by culture.
”This work is often seen as a representation of the immigration social problem. Actually is something different: an insecurity moment, something that is about to happen, that must happen and that will happen for everybody. It’s a moment in which your life inevitably changes, going from cheerfulness to responsibility. It can be a social, economic, or political responsibility. I didn’t think of a ship laying over the bodies of people carrying it, but of a house. The outline of this sculpture is a man drawing a tent, a house, a roof. The roof is the horizon that limits him.”
A deal between Politecnico di Torino and Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi.
A new profession, a sort of music engineer: Politecnico and Conservatorio have signed a new deal. This technician/artist will have to use his creativity to adapt his work both on an artistic level and on audio-video post production. New chances for Cinema and Media students, and for Politecnico Informatics Engineering students. At the same time, related to classical studies, Conservatorio will offer a specific education on acoustic and sound basis, in order to support Scuola di Musica Elettronica above all.
The deadline for the National Civil Service registration has been delayed until 8th July 2016. This is according to the article 4 of the “Announcement of selection for 35,203 volunteers who will be employed in both national and international Civil Service projects”. These announcements of selection have been published on the Dipartimento della Gioventù e del Servizio civile nazionale website, on 30th May 2016.

PIP – Incanti project’s announcement of competition

INCANTI – Rassegna Internazionale di Teatro di Figura is promoting the competition PIP 2016 for students and professionals of Figure Theatre coming from all over the world. PIP is a free of charge intensive workshop held by a world-wide famous artist of Figure Theatre, and aims to create a show for the Festival. PIP 2016 will be directed by Agnès Limbos – CIE Gare Centrale.
PIP 2016 will take place in Turin:
from 18 August to 3 September 2016. Creation, montage and rehearsals
Presentation of the show at Incanti:
from 24 to 27 September 2016, final rehearsal in the theatre and repeat performance.

Together with two professors, ten students from the Degree Course in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage will carry out a didactic yard in order to restore the Domus of the Ancient Hunt. Students of Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage will take care theirselves of the restoration of the domus that were not funded by the Grande Progetto Pompei. The project is part of the 3-year convention made by University of Turin and Centro Conservazione e Restauro ‘La Venaria Reale’, with a Special Supervision on Pompei, Ercolano and Stabia.
Another interesting concert coming from the second part of Music Nights of Conservatorio di Torino, and from the Project OFT Lab of Philharmonic Orchestra of Turin, is taking place Friday 27th May 2016 at 9 p.m.
Students from Conducting school will play at the event (professor: Mario Lamberto), violin (professor: Enrico Geppo) and contrabass (professor: Davide Botto), together with the Philharmonic Orchestra of Turin.
