AlmaLaurea has published its Report on Graduates’ Profiles and Employment Rates for the year 2020. The report analyzes the performance of 7,341 Politecnico graduates, 3,745 of which are Bachelor’s Deegree graduates, while the remaining 3,587 are Master’s Degree graduates.
AlmaLaurea’s report is eagerly awauted by students and families, and it often plays an important role in their choice of career. This year, the report confirms a trend that has not reversed, even during the crisis: Politecnico di Torino graduates find a job and receive salaries that are, on average, higher than those of graduates from other Italian universities.
An in-depth analysis of employment profiles of Politecnico graduates reveals that the majority of them are young people who, for the most part, continue their studies after their Bachelor’s Degree. This means they enter the world of work only after having obtained their Master’s Degree. And even among Bachelor’s Degree graduates who have never enrolled in a Master’s Degree course and are already a part of the world of work, the employment rate is 78.7%, with the national figure standing at 74.1%.
The most significant (and significantly growing) percentage is that concerning Master’s Degree graduates one year after their graduation: 90,5% of Master’s Degree graduates at Politecnico di Torino are employed, a figure far above the national average (71.7%), and showing an upward trend if compared to last year’s 88.6.
According to Almalaurea’s latest data, the percentage of employed graduates continues to increase and, five years after graduation, it reaches 92.8% against the national figure of 86.8%. As far as Università di Torino is concerned, the survey on employment rates analyzed the performance of 23,061 graduates. This data is based on the analysis of the performances of 2018 Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree graduates, who have been interviewed one year after their graduation, and of the performances of 2014 Bachelor’s Degree graduates, who have been interviewed five years after their graduation.
UniTo’s performance is positive in many aspects, it has improved since last year’s Report, and in comparison with the national average. The employment rate and level of satisfaction of UniTo graduates has grown, and five years after having received their Master’s Degree, their employment rate has reached 90.1%).
Compared to national data, Università di Torino’s employment rates are higher one year after graduating (75.9%, as opposed to the national average, 71.7%) and five years after graduating (90.1% as opposed to the national average, 86.8%). UniTo graduates’ monthly net salary five years after graduating stands
at €1,506, versus the national figure of €1,499 euro. With regard to the level of satisfaction, one year after their Bachelor’s Degree at UniTo, 62.4% consider their degrees to be an effective or very effective value, compared to 61.5% at national level.
