Confindustria Cuneo and Politecnico di Torino have come together to create a new Master’s, called “Manufacturing 4.0”, whose aim is to mold a new generation of engineers and high – level experts for the industrial manufacturing systems of tomorrow. “Manufacturing 4.0” is a
higher education path based on technical and managerial training. It is focused on logistics, marketing, industry 4.0 technology, robotics, additive manufacturing and big data analytics.
Courses will be taught in English, and the Master’s will last two years, after which degree holders to be integrated in the working world, through the use of experimental methods.
Participants will be hired on a Higher Education and Research Apprenticeship contract.

Fondazione Cecilia Gilardi will awards scholarships to students enrolled in Master’s degree courses at Università degli Studi, Università del Piemonte Orientale and Politecnico di Torino.
The requirements to apply for the scholarships are the following:

  • Being enrolled in a course for the academic year 2019-2020 at one of the previously – mentioned Universities.
  • Being in one of the following conditions:
  • Students enrolled in the first year of a Master’s are required to have finished their three-year degree plan on schedule and with a score of at least 105/110.
  • Students enrolled in the second year are required to have earned at least 40 university credits (CFUs), and to have an average grade of at least 27/30 before the exam session in September.

Scholarships are aimed at supporting talented young people longing to grow both personally and professionally, be it through a Master’s Dissertation, periods of training or in-depth courses (in Italy or abroad).

Starting from tomorrow, Saturday 11 th January 2020, Study room “Comala” will be open. It is located in the premises of the former Caserma La Marmora, in corso Ferrucci 65. It can seat up to 100 people, and it is equipped with electrical sockets, free Wi-Fi, free water on tap,
indoor café and leisure area complete with table tennis and table football. At present, the study room will only be open during the exam session, with the following opening hours:
Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.
Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7.30 p.m.

Università degli Studi has launched a Master’s in “Religious Studies and Intercultural Mediation” that will begin in April 2020 and finish in December 2020. The aim is to teach fundamental knowledge and specific methodological approaches concerning the different subjects that study the religious phenomenon from an historical, philosophical, anthropological, sociological, politological and legal point of view.
You can choose between the following courses:

·A theoretical and historical path, focused on providing skilled expertise on various religious ideas, practices and beliefs, and on interreligious relations concerning both doctrinal and historical presuppositions, and how they are concretely carried out in different geographical and cultural areas.

·An intercultural mediation path, focused on providing skilled expertise on understanding coexistence dynamics among different religious beliefs and on managing the tools to handle issues matters relating to the practices of intercultural mediation, according to different scientific approaches.

The Master’s is aimed at those doing social work or carrying out activities during which they are faced with the many themes concerning coexistence among different religious beliefs.
Pre-enrolment is open from 7 th January 2020 to 7 th February 2020.

Università degli Studi di Torino has announced that it will award three study awards in memory of Serena Saracino, one of the Erasmus students killed in the tragic accident in Tarragona on 20 th March 2016.
The announcement is open to students who have participated in the Erasmus student exchange programme for education or training purposes in the academic year 2018-2019.
Candidates must write a creative essay on the topic “Reasons and meaning of the Erasmus experience as an opportunity to build European identity and citizenship”.
Applications can be submitted until 28 th February 2020.

Electric scooters and segways have finally arrived in Torino, as one of the city’s many projects to combat pollution. Eight private companies are currently in charge of rentals, in different areas of the city. You can locate the scooters by using the app, and unlock them by reading the QR code on the handlebar.
You can choose from these eight apps:
· Bird
This Californian start-up has been working in the United Stated and in Europe since 2017. It offers a free-flow sharing of electric scooters, and after a trial period in other Italian cities it has finally arrived in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.29 per minute
The app can be found on Google Play Store and Apple App Store.

· BIT mobility
An Italian sustainable mobility project registered in March 2019 and based in Bussolengo (VR). Its electric scooters are available for rental in Torino, as a solution for short-distance trips.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute. You can make stops and park your scooter at a price of €0.05 per minute.
The app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

· Circ
This German company has been working in micro mobility since 2018, and has now brought 500 electric scooters to Torino. Rental will be available thanks to a free-floating sharing service.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.19 per minute.
A second option is to purchase a package (or pass) that allows unlimited use for an hour, at the price of €4.90. Two passes allowing unlimited use for a week cost €5.90, and two passes allowing unlimited use for a month cost €14.90. In the last two cases, you will only be charged for the minutes of actual use.

· dott
Dott is a start-up based in Amsterdam and founded in 2018 that works in shared mobility. Its electric scooters are now available for rental in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Helbiz
Italian-American urban transport company based in New York. It was the first company to launch electric scooters for rental in Italy. It has arrived in Torino in December 2019.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Hive
German company working in micro mobility since 2018. It has brought 500 electric scooters to Torino. They are painted a fluorescent yellow colour, which makes them easily recognisable.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Lime
Founded in the United States in 2017, this company offers free-flow transportation devices. 300 of their electric scooters are now available in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.25 per minute.

· Tier
Sustainable mobility is Tier’s ultimate goal. The company, based in Berlin, has brought its scooters to Torino in December 2019.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

Electric scooters and segways are allowed:

· inside “Zona 30
· on bicycle paths
· in streets where the speed limit is 30 km/h, as indicated by road signs
· inside “ZTL” (Limited Traffic Zone)

Riding electric scooters is not allowed in pedestrian zones (Via Garibaldi, for example)
The following is strictly forbidden:

· NO riding the scooters on sidewalks
· NO riding along or under city porticoes
· NO riding against the flow of traffic
· NO being towed by other vehicles
· NO more than one person per scooter

The Università degli Studi di Torino obtains the second place in the GreenMetric 2019 ranking: this is an international chart based on environmental and social sustainability of university campuses.
Unito once again confirms its second place among the 29 italian universities analised. Compared to 2018, the turinese University improves its position on the international level, ranking 41 st on 780 universities.
The ranking gives a score based on the information and data, sent by universities, about the actions taken and the policies implemented to reduce consumption and enhance sustainability.
This chart takes into account indicators of:
– Infrastructure (university’s general data, green areas and budget for sustainability): 15%
– Energy (consumption and policies to reduce its impact): 21%
– Waste (treatment and recycling): 18%
– Water (preservation and recycling): 10%
– Transport (policies for sustainable mobility in universities): 18%
– Didactics and research (courses, projects and results from researches on sustainability and extension of the overall society’s knowledge):18%
In 2016 the University of Turin established the UniTo Green Office project, with the aim of promoting planning and creating actions and initiatives for more environmental sustainability in universities, also collaborating with local corporations and stakeholders.

Visioni in Movimento” Cinema School with no chairs, is an announcement targeted at young film-makers.
This is the fifth edition, and there’s time until 30 th December to apply for it. “Visioni in Movimento” is an artistic opportunity for exchange, which consists of a long four-stop route to be carried out on foot on the Triestine Carso.
The fifth edition of “Visioni in Movimento” is promoted and realized by Culture Attive with the support of MIBACT and SIAE, within the “Per Chi Crea” program, and with the participation of Gal Carso, in partnership with the Mattador of Trieste and Visionaria of Siena associations, and with the collaboration of the Trieste Film Festival – Alpe Andria Cinema and Doc.it – italian documentarists association.
