Turin as a city of integration: the culture as a strategy for social transformation

From Feb 15th to Feb 19th , 2016

IAAD (Institute of Applied Art and Design) announces the 7th edition of “IAAD TURIN DESIGN WORKSHOP”, a system of workshops held this week, where topical issues related to design and its direct connection to the contemporary society will be addressed.

The theme of this edition draws inspiration from the idea of creative infrastructures and cities, a shared model to improve the planning and the management of the city.

In Turin, which has just been given the title of “The UNESCO Creative City for Design”, IAAD is going to work again on, with and for the local area and places all the world. During the week, IAAD, as a incubator of innovation and creativity, is working in 8 different workshops, trying to find solutions for the improvement of the area.

The opening meeting will be held on Monday 15th Feb at 11.30 am at Sala Lattes – Basic.Net –C.so Regio Parco 39. The results of the workshops will be announced on Friday 19th Feb at 2.00 pm at Sala Lattes – Basic.Net –C.so Regio Parco 39, in Turin.

New course in Digital Communication

In March 2016, IED (European Institute of Design) will launch the first edition of the Specialization Course in Digital Communication, Corso di Specializzazione in Comunicazione Digitale and the school offers a 10% discount on tuition fee within the first four members to enrol by February 2016.

Internet, social networks and the new media extended communication have created a new generation of professionals in advertising agencies, marketing departments and external relations or digital agencies. The aim of the course is to train people able to face the new challenges of marketing and online communications.

Classroom will address the main issues related to the sector: Online Marketing (SEO and SEM), Social Media Strategy, Web Writing, Digital PR, Mobile Communication.

The course, with evening attendance, is aimed at both high school graduate, to graduates with a good knowledge of web browsing.

“Spaces for music”: call for papers deadline January 31st, 2016

“Spaces for music” is a six-monthly online magazine of musicological research and

comparative cultures published by the Department of Humanistic Studies (StudiUm) at the

University of Turin.

The deadline for 2016 call for papers, for the first issue of the magazine is 31 January

2016.

A new contemporary dance workshop for girls, within the project YEPP for the regeneration of the area Porta Palazzo, is about to begin.
From Monday, January 25th, 2016, the meeting is going to be every Monday from 4 to 6 pm at theschool gym of the School Croce Morelli – Corso Novara 26 – Turin.
The workshop will be conducted by the teacher Erika Milanesio and will conclude with a performance in a public space of Porta Palazzo.
The workshop is free and dedicated to girls aged 15 to 29, who live or attend Porta Palazzo. In order to better organize the activities, membership required by Saturday, January 23th, 2016

picture-1-1363524908The 2019 Matera-Basilicata Foundation is launching a call for 15 participants for the first workshop of the Open Design School Matera.

The first ODS will be an intensive workshop and will take place in Matera, from 15th January to 28th February 2016: the target is developing the concept of a highly innovative theatre/place for performances in a 18th Century cave of the Sassi di Matera.

(where some of the activities of Matera 2019 will take place) and contributing to the planning and creation of the next headquarters of the Open Design School and the Foundation.

We are looking for 15 participants (local, national and European): architects, engineers, lightning designers, visual designers, sound designers, artists, craftsmen, photographers, filmmakers, surveyors, economists.

Deadline is due on Monday 21st December 2015 at 12 am, in order to send your applications.

accademia belle arti 1On Thursday 17th December at 2.30 pm at the Accademia Albertina: “Pratiche artistiche e patrimonio culturale in habitat popolare” (Artistic practices and cultural heritage in popular habitat), conference with the Architect Liliana Fracasso, PhD in Geography.

We will talk about the development of a research project made by the Faculty of Arts of the Universidad Antonio Nariño of Bogotá, for the launch of an international network cultural heritage experts the concept of “heritage”, with a lot of audiovisual material and first reports.

From 6th November to 23rd December you can transfer to another course by paying due fees, which are not to be given in case of transfer from the year 1 to year 2..

 

For every student, enrolled at any course of study, the payment of the due fees to the years following the 1st is subject to the due surcharge (deadline: 5th November). The payment of this fee corresponds to the enrolment to the new academic year.
