On Monday, 8 th June, IUSTO (Istituto Universitario Salesiano di Torino) held its online open day.
Open days are a great opportunity to learn more about IUSTO’s degree courses, admission procedures, facilities, and services.

Students will get to know the Course Leader and University Administrators and meet students who are already enrolled at IUSTO.
The presentation of Corso di laurea triennale in Scienze dell’Educazione (Bachelor’s Degree in Science Education) took place at 11 a.m., and the presentation of Corso di laurea triennale in Psicologia (Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology) took place at 2 p.m.

The first free online service for gambling problems and over-indebtedness was launched on Monday, 18th May. The service is managed by IUSTO, Istituto Universitario Salesiano di Torino.

The free hotline is intended for people dealing with problems related to pathological gambling or over-indebtedness. To receive advice and support, please call 011.0447748 (answering machine active 24 hours a day), or send an e-mail to http://gap@ius.to.

The service, managed by Università IUSTO, was launched in 2015 under the name Supera il GAP – Supporto alle persone che affrontano il gioco d’azzardo patologico” (“Overcome the GAP – Support for people dealing with pathological gambling). In 2019, it expanded its area of intervention to situations of over-indebtedness.

High School specializing in Technology ITS ICT (Foundation for Information and Communication Technologies) Piemonte does not stop, and has set up events and initiatives to describe its courses.

We are working on videos in which the images of the companies that work with us will guide you through our journey, equipment, classrooms and what sets our Institute apart from the others.” The videos will be available on their website in the next few days.

The first online event has been set up for Thursday, 4th June, at 3 p.m. Students interested in the curriculum and anyone who wishes to participate can sign up on their website. After that, you will receive a verification link, and be updated on dates of events, bookings, enrollments and admissions.

We are not yet accepting enrollments for the 2020/2021 two-years course of study. First enrollments to start in July, subject to Regione Piemonte regulations

ITS ICT offers free professional training courses that do not require entrance exam fees or tuition fees for the whole two-years course of study.

ITS has the right to make changes in its curricula at the beginning of every two-years course of study, in order to effectively meet company needs. Therefore, new curricula may be subject to changes in qualification or content, while remaining focused on information and communication technologies.

The current situation has also highlighted the importance and the role of digital tools in the productive sector, which will boost new investments and further promote employment in the field.

Re-opening of CUS Torino on Monday, 25th

Starting from Monday, 25th March 2020, the University Sports Centre (CUS Torino) will re-open five of its nine facilities. These facilities allow for outdoor physical activity, offering the following wide range of services.

via Panetti 30 (Torino): track and field (training for professional athletes and courses), basketball (training for professional athletes), tennis (courses and tennis court rentals), beach volley (training for professional athletes and one-onone courses), and dance (courses).

President of CUS Torino Riccardo D’Elicio has said: “This is indeed a good sign of a new beginning for the university sports system and for our territory. On Monday, we will resume part of our activities. It will be a huge satisfaction, a relief for all of us, for those who love sport, and it will offer young people and university students an opportunity for leisure. We are lucky enough to have available to us facilities with green spaces, so we are ready to start again. We are carrying out the process of sanitizing our spaces, and putting up signs with instructions to follow (in compliance with Government and University protocols) as we speak. Each facility will be staffed with a person in charge of giving directions and enforcing rules.”

From June 3rd you can borrow books and/or scan up to 15% of the book.
How so? if you want to borrow a book, you will need to send the library an email from the account provided by the University. Here, you will need to specify the title of the book and its location on the shelves. Requests can be sent starting from today, May 29 th. You will receive an email with the scheduled date.
To require scans, please fill out the form in the “services” section on the website of each library. Biblioteca Graf has already activated the service on Friday, 29 th May, while the other libraries will activate it on June 3 rd .

Today, Thursday 28 th May, EDISU Piemonte launches its food delivery app, Joy Food.
With the Joy Food App, you can pre-order your meal and choose among take away Olimpia, take away Claretta and delivery residenze (the latter is not available to students who have access to Olimpia and Villa Claretta canteens).

You can pick up your own meal, at the times scheduled for you residence. You can pay on delivery.

ITS ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) Piedmont does not stop and has prepared communication initiatives and events to describe their courses.We are preparing some videos in which the companies that work with us and the images, will tell our routes, equipment, classrooms and what distinguishes our ITS. Everything will be available in the next few days on their website.

The first on-line presentation of the ITS ICT was organized for Thursday 4 June at 15:00. The students and interested students and anyone who wants to participate, can register on the their website to receive the accreditation link and to be updated on dates of appointments, registrations and selections. Further useful information:

  •  REGISTRATIONS for the next two years have not yet been started, we expect them to start in July, following of the provisions of the Piedmont Region
  • ITS ICT continues to offer highly specialized courses that are fully funded, therefore free of charge, without requiring registration fees for the selection and for the frequency of the two-year period;
  • ITS have the possibility to modify the study programs at the start of each two-year period in order to respond concretely to the needs of the companies, therefore it is possible that the new study paths may undergo variations in the title or in some contents while remaining focused on the study of information and communication technologies.
  • The period also highlighted the importance and centrality of digital tools for all production sectors, boosting new investments and new tools that will further support employment in the sector.

The free “remote” desk managed by IUSTO for gambling and over-indebtedness problems has been active since Monday 18 May. The free listening desk of the Salesian University Institute of Turin – IUSTO for people with gambling problems pathological gambling or over-indebtedness. For a telephone or e-mail consultation it is possible to call the number 011.0447748 (answering machine 24 hours a day) or send an e-mail.

The listening desk is managed by the IUSTO University, is a service active since 2015 with the name “Overcomes the GAP – Support for people facing pathological gambling”, since 2019 it has expanded the area of intervention also to situations of over-indebtedness.

Are you students and students of the Polytechnic of Turin enrolled in a first level degree course? Are you having difficulty finding a computer or other computer device in view of the exam session? The Alumni Association of the Politecnico has published a call for applications to obtain a computer or other IT device.

The main requirements are:

  1. Having enrolled in the academic year 2019/2020 to a Bachelor’s Degree Course at the Polytechnic of Turin;
    be resident in Italy;
  2. have submitted the application for the reduction of the contribution for the academic year 2019/2020 and having placed no more than income bracket 14 (ISEE <= 25.500 euros);
  3. not be in possession of an instrument suitable for the use of teaching remotely, according to the minimum requirements (windows 10 or IoS, webcam);
    The deadline to participate in the call is May 22, 2020 and the devices will be assigned starting June 1.

In view of the next summer exam session for the 2019/2020 academic year in the general framework of remote development, the Turin universities have developed ad hoc handbooks for students and students with Specific Learning Disorders (DSA). Within the general framework of Law 170/2010 which guarantees duly certified DSA students to be able to take advantage of adequate forms of verification and evaluation during the university course, it is worth noting the specificities and approaches of the universities.

The Polytechnic of Turin has prepared general indications but some differences compared to the exam to be taken. The information is to support students with disabilities and / or with Specific Learning Disorders (DSA). In fact, since 2010 the University has activated the support service for students with Specific Learning Disorders (DSA) whose services are detailed here. As regards the University of Turin, specific guidelines have been prepared to regulate teaching and remote examinations. In particular, the teachers can find all the useful information to make the teaching material accessible on the University’s intranet site, under distance teaching. In addition, Prof. Marisa Pavone, delegate of the Rector of the University of Turin for disability / DSA, has prepared operational indications and at this link you can not only access information but also download the form to request individualized treatment for students and students with DSA. In fact, there are specific indications for different disabilities and the University’s recommendation is in any case that students with disabilities report their needs for distance lessons or exams well in advance to the professor and the disabled office of the University. , so as to agree on reasonable accommodation to guarantee everyone the right to study.
