TOChina Summer School
(Torino, July 4-15, 2016)
 
The TOChina Summer School, a partnership of the Department of Culture, Politics and Society, University of Torino, and the Torino World Affairs Institute (T.wai), has been running with the support of Fondazione CRT since 2007 to help outstanding students, young scholars and engaged professionals reflect on the complexity of China’s development and return to global prominence from a plurality of perspectives.

In 2016 the School is proud to acknowledge the Australian Center on China in the World (CIW), the“L’Orientale” and the Department of Political Science of the University of Rome “Roma Tre” as associate partners.

Based at the “Luigi Einaudi” campus of the University of Torino, the Summer School welcomes participants to a vibrant international environment, where an informal work style allows for free, in-depth discussion on critical issues that lie at the’s long-term structural transformations and global current affairs.

Wed 6th of April 2016 a seminar is scheduled to present the WeWorld Index 2016, called Children, teenagers and women: the world of outcasts. The meeting will be held at Campus Luigi Einaudi (Aula D5 – Lungo Dora Siena, 100 – Torino).

 

Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici (in particular, Spettacolo e Musica del DAMS course), is organising a cycle of Spring Seminars in memory of Febo Guizzi.

The program includes a full calendar of seminars, which will deal with the complexity of the subjects studied by Guizzi, when he worked at our University.

The initiative, sponsored by International Council for Traditional Music (ICTM), will continue until June 10th 2016.

Seminars are free and open to audience.

 

If you are interested in one or more IAAD educational careers, first of all you have to apply for your nomination.

If you already got your high school diploma or you are attending your last high school year, you can do the admission exams during one of the sessions scheduled in IAAD calendar starting from April. To participate to one of the sessions, online registration in required ( on-line).

Foreign and/or Italian students resident abroad can give the oral exam and the admission exam by arranging a meeting via Skype upon agreement with Ufficio Orientamento IAAD.

After receiving the official communication of the eligibility achieved by passing the exam, you will be able to enrol completing your registration and handing in the requested documents.

Contact Ufficio Orientamento IAAD to arrange a meeting for further information about the school careers and the academic year.

MYllennium Award 2016

The second edition of MYllennium Award, the prize for under 30s and their projects, is back again. Registration is open until 30th April 2016.

The initiative is dedicated to Millennials, the so-called Y Generation and aims at giving value to excellences of the young people born between the 80s and the first years of 2000, in terms of creativity and innovation.

MYllennium Award 2016 is divided into 6 sections: Literary Essays “MY Book”, Startup “MY Startup”, Journalism “MY Reportage“, New Jobs  “MY Job” e Architecture “MY City”, and in 2016 edition also Cinema with “MY Frame”.

A technical- scientific committee will examine the projects, the Comitato d’onore, the MYllennium Award representative body composed by authoritative institutional, academical and diplomatic personalities, industry and Italian bank delegates, will guarantee the quality and the value of the initiative.

EIA presentation

The presentation of EIA (European Innovation Academy), a summer school starting from June 2016, will be held on Fri, 1st of April 2016 at 12.00 pm.

EIA is a project aiming at finding out and developing young talented people through experiences of digital transformation and innovation. The project was already held successfully in Nice.

“TRAME FESTIVAL”

ANNOUNCEMENT FOR YOUNG ARTISTS:

OPEN TRAME.6 CONTEMPORARY ART

Trame Festival will start again and freedom is the theme of the 6th edition of the only festival dedicated to books about mafia.

Protagonists are the book and the literature, which will be brought to squares in Lamezia Terme by journalists, men and women to renew the meeting with social and civil commitment in the land of ‘ndrangheta.

OPEN TRAME.6 CONTEMPORARY ART will deal with freedom, from which you can draw inspiration to write your work (personal freedom, freedom from abuses, freedom from violence, freedom of reading, writing, but, most of all, freedom from mafia).

The winning work will be a symbol for the audience of Trame Festival and will be exposed in one of the open spaces where public meeting will be held.

Application to join the event is available in the website www.tramefestival.it.

Applications have to be sent within midnight of Sun, 10th of April, 2016.
