During the academic year 2023/2024, UNITO supports the right to education and the sustainable mobility with a new initiative aimed at reimbursing the annual or multi-
monthly GTT pass.

WHICH PASSES ARE INCLUDED (AND WHICH EXCLUDED)
The reimburse is valid only for the annual and multi-monthly passes, lasting between 10 and 12 months, that were purchased between 1 July 2023 and 31 January 2024 exclusively on
the website e-commerce della GTT or at the ticket vending machines in the metro stations.
Other tickets, such as weekly passes, are not reimbursable.

REIMBURSE AMOUNT
The reimburse is reserved for students from Università di Torino enrolled in the academic year 2023/2024 in a first or second-cycle degree and free of debts to the university. The
80% of the fare, up to a maximum of 400€ per capita, will be reimbursed.

DEADLINE
The application for reimbursement must be sent by 12 p.m. on 31 January 2024.
The application can be sent exclusively by filling in the online form included in the notice.

CIRSDe, the Research Centre for Women's and Gender Studies, will organise the conference “Beyond Genders”. Intersectionality between theory and practice. Interdisciplinary gazes” on Friday, 24 November and Saturday, 25 November at Luigi Einaudi Campus.

This concept was born within the Anglo-American legal discourse and coined by the American jurist Kimberlé Crenshaw to highlight how the law is often inadequate to address the discrimination based on several factors and how even inadequate the anti-discrimination policies are to interactions, such as those in the situation of black women. The concept of intersectionality underlines the existence of social hierarchies and compartmentalization by describing oppression and discrimination caused by belonging to multiple groups and/or categories such as sex, gender, class, ethnicity, religion, age, disability, or sexual orientation.

Nowadays, it is transversally used as theoretical orientation in gender and women’s studies to analyse how the indicators of difference intertwine with majority and dominant structures. Over the years, its scope has extended beyond the abovementioned disciplines, including the social, pedagogical, psychological, medical, or linguistic field, to name a few. An increasing number of people working in the academy and interested in inequalities, social injustices and discrimination is aware of the need to overcome binarism and dichotomies that simplify the complexity of multiple belongings. Together with the multidisciplinary branching, the concept of intersectionality became the object of different divergences. It is the object of heated debates and epistemological and ideological controversies between those who believe in its ideological nature that cannot be limited to a mere methodological approach, and those who claim the need of an analysis based on a class struggle, crucial for any social injustice.
Moreover, while in some disciplines, such as gender studies, the concept of intersectionality is well known both from a theoretical and practical point of view, in others it is a nebulous concept searching for a well-defined identity, especially in its practical effects. Given the plural nature of the current debate and the diagonal nature of its application, the conference intends to be an opportunity for dialogue between the different disciplines to explore the “state-of-the-art” of research and considerations on this topic. What are the perspectives through which it has been analysed for years? What are its applications? What makes its implementation complex and what are the pitfalls in its actual applicability? Why do some
fields of study seem to dialogue more fluently with this concept and others to be resistant?
Which are the most popular research methods, and why? How was the concept of intersectionality analysed and discussed among the various disciplines? How can an
intersectional perspective be developed in global contexts that deal with a past of colonialism and oppression?

Are you graduating or have a degree and want to enter the world of work?
AlmaLaurea is organising next Thursday, 26 October from 9.20 a.m. a free event dedicated to undergraduates and graduates from Turin and Northern Italy: AL Lavoro Torino .
Undergraduates and graduates will have the opportunity to meet the companies and take part in workshops to improve their own skills. Registration is mandatory to attend the meeting.

WHAT YOU CAN DO BEFORE SECONDARY-SCHOOL DIPLOMA
 4 th -year secondary-school students, again this year, can take the entrance exam for the five-year master’s degree courses in Medicine and Surgery, Dentistry and Prosthetics in Italian and Veterinary Medicine. Since the secondary-school diploma is a mandatory requirement for enrolment, in any case you will need to have obtained it to complete your enrolment. How many times can secondary-school students take the entrance exam? Each candidate can take the TOLC-Med and TOLC-Vet twice a year: one per each exam session. Therefore, 4 th -year secondary-school candidates can attempt the exam 4 times: twice in 2023 and twice in 2024.

  As regards the other TOLC exams, i.e., the online test by CISIA consortium, you can participate through any exam delivery method even if you are still a 4 th -year secondary-school student. It must be considered that, according to the Rules TOLC , a TOLC exam is valid at least in the year in which you take it. Therefore, students will have to check the validity period of the exam in the notice of admission of the relevant degree course.

 Politecnico di Torino gives students who are in their final year of secondary school the opportunity to take the entrance exam for a maximum of 3 times and only once per exam session. These are three different exams, i.e., the TIL-I test (to access to all Engineering degree courses of Politecnico), TIL-D test (to access to Design and Communication degree courses) and TIL-P (to access to Territorial, Urban, Environmental and Landscape Planning degree course).

 Free online courses of start@unito – available here  – will be useful both to choose the course and prepare for the entrance exam.
 CONSERVATORY: preparatory courses are very useful to access three-year degree courses without any fail in the core subjects, info and regulation

Daimon is the two-year master’s degree course of Scuola Holden, focused on the idea that narrating is not only an artistic act, but also a feasible job and a way of looking at the world.
Three programmes to choose from: Maps, Meridians, Compasses.

Daimon is aimed at people between 18 and 30 years. To enrol in the master’s degree course, you do not need to take an exam, but there will be a selection: the criterion will be, in fact, the Daimon, aimed at knowing who you are and what you imagine, your expectations and motivation.

The selection is made at Scuola Holden (Piazza Borgo Dora 40, Turin). It will give you the opportunity to visit the school, get to know the teaching methodology and staff during the interview, and meet other people who are there for the selection and could became your future classmates.

Iliad provides 10 scholarships, worth €15,000 each, to those students who have enrolled or intend to do it in master’s degree courses in Social Science, Arts & Literature and STEM- related subjects. 6 of the 10 scholarships are reserved for STEM students, 2 for Social Science and 2 for Arts & Literature.

The competition is open to male and female students who upon submitting the application:
• live in Italy;
• are no older than 24 years old;
• are enrolling for the first time in a master’s degree course in the academic year 2023/2024
and have achieved a weighted average mark of no less than 26/30 in their three-year degree course;
or
• are enrolled in a single-cycle master’s degree with a weighted average mark of no less than 26/30 and in their first three academic years have earned at least 90% of the ECTS provided for by the study plan of their course; and • intend to write a dissertation that focuses on topics related to the future of connections and the connections of the future.

The revolving fund is an economic aid to cover the payment of the deposit that owners require when stipulating a rental agreement. It is an advance payment of the scholarship for academic year 2023/2024, reserved for off-site students who appliedfor scholarship and residential service, enrolled in the first year or next, who havebeen judged suitable for a bed by entering the definitive rankings of September 22, 2023, and non-recipient through declaration of interest (art. 33 subsection 3 of the contest announcement for the awarding of scholarship, residential service, graduation award for the academic year 2023/2024).

Beneficiaries
The grant is reserved for university students:
– Who had been judged suitable for the residential service for the academic year2023/24 through the definitive rankings of September 22, 2023, and who declared their interest in having a bed exclusively in Edisu residencies, as regulated by art. 33 subsection 3 of the contest announcement for academic year 2023/24;
– Who at the moment of the deposit of the grant are enrolled in a Piedmont university;
– Who show a rental agreement officially registered at Agenzia delle Entrate, whose duration must be of at least 10 months within academic year 2023/24 (between 1st September 2023 and 30th September 2024, with the exception of what regulated by art. 8 subsection 2 of the contest announcement for academic year 2023/24).
The rental agreement must be held by the student or by a first relative of them, it should specify the student’s use and it must be located in the city where the
student attends their courses or in an adjacent city. The agreement should also specify that the deposit sum must be received by the year 2023.

How and when to apply
The application must be filled in and sent exclusively online by logging into your personal area on www.edisu.piemonte.it, in the section “ONLINE SERVICES” – click on “Scholarships, Beds, Food Service, Refunds and Grants” (that from now on we will mention as online Help Desk), by using your digital identity (SPID), your CIE (electronic ID), or for internationals that have no Italian residency, by using the Temporary Access
Code for academic year 2023/24, as regulated by art. 7 subsection 1 of the contest announcement for the awarding of scholarship, residential service, graduation award for the academic year 2023/24, attaching what required by art. 4 of the announcement.
