Club to Club, the most important Italian festival of electronic music, returns to Turin for its sixteenth edition. If you want to stay informed about new trends and new pop music, Club to Club is the right occasion.

It will be hosted from Wednesday, November 2 to Sunday, November 6, in the most beautiful places of Turin: from the Reggia di Venaria to Lingotto Fiere, from the Marriott Hotel to Xplosiva in Via Goito.

After the previous successful editions with extraordinary performances by Thom Yorke and Franco Battiato, this year, more than 50 artists, from 15 countries around the world, will meet in Turin to create a unique experience: 20 acts exclusively for Italy, including the amazing dJ set by Nick Murphy (Australian singer, known as Chet Faker, already a guest at Club to Club in 2014), dJ Shadow (one of the key names in the electronic scene), whose set will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the album Endtroducing…, the Venezuelan producer (who made significant contributions to studio albums of Björk and Kanye West) Arca and Autechre, the British duo of Warp Records.

There will be 14 world premier performances: among these, the place of honor undoubtedly goes to Junun, the project of Jonny Greenwood of Radiohead with the Israeli musician Shye Ben Tzur and the Indian ensemble The Rajasthan Express, headliner on Saturday night, November 5, at Lingotto.

The Grand Opening will be held on November 2, at the Reggia di Venaria, in cooperation with Unsound, another international festival based in Krakow. Many artists will play from 9.30 pm: the Gang of Ducks, Soundsystem, Elysia Crampton, the Chino Amobi, Olivia.

The closure party is entrusted to Dance Salvario: a block party that will take place along the streets and squares of San Salvario district of Turin.

Cover the grief with a colour, not to forget, this is the initiative, promoted by the City of Turin in collaboration with the Street artist Fabio79, to remember the 13 Erasmus students who lost their life in a coach crash in Tarragona last March.

A canvas 14 meters long will be displayed in Piazza Castello on Saturday from 10 am, as a synonym of the monochromaticity that pervades the soul after a grief. Anyone can leave their thumbprint on the canvas, choosing among seven colors, in order to express the closeness to the parents of these students and to colour the wefts of the existence.

On the same day, at 9:30 am, Fabio Versaci, the Chairman of the City Council of Turin, will meet some of the parents of the seven Italian victims in the Sala dell’Orologio of Palazzo Civico, including Serena Saracino’s parents, she was a student of the Department of Science and Pharmaceutical Technology of Turin.

The Centre for Sustainable Futures dell’Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia was founded in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino as a result of the decisions taken at the COP21, which took place in Paris in December 2015 and to which 195 countries joined. The Centre aims to develop innovative and sustainable technologies in order to prevent global warming.

One of the challenges of this Centre is to capture CO2 and reuse it as a raw material, but also to develop production technologies that are based on renewable sources.

On Thursday, November 10, 2016, in the Great Hall at the Politecnico di Torino, in Corso Duca degli Abruzzi, 24, the Director of the Centre, Guido Saracco, will explain the main targets of the Center to combat global warming: goods and services based on renewable sources, use of carbon dioxide and organic waste as a raw material, development of photo-electrochemical and bio-mimetic systems, storage and reuse of low temperature heat.

There will be also a round table to discuss climate change with professionals in the world of research, industry and economy, to formulate a message that can bring us closer to the solution.

If you want to attend this event, you need to confirm your attendance to: eventi@polito.it

ServireConLode.it comes from the cooperation between University of Turin, Politecnico, Salesian University Institute Turin-Rebaudengo, Città Metropolitana, Diocese of Turin and Service Centre Vol.To. It aims to offer many volunteer opportunities to university students who are attending the universities of Turin and on the whole to the academic world, teachers and administrative staff.

Over 50 voluntary organizations and charities are ready to welcome young volunteers, providing 500 volunteer opportunities and offering them the opportunity to devote their free time to people and to address their needs.

On the website aspiring volunteers can search opportunities through several filters, such as the type of service, the beneficiaries, the time slot, geographical area. Once you make a choice, by filling the form online, you will be contacted by a counselor to make a brief conversation and understand what the best solution – both for the volunteer and for the involved organization – might be. After the interview, you will be put in touch with the chosen organization and with its representatives, in order to start the voluntary work.

The aim is, on the one hand, to offer young people the ability to solve problems and work in teams; on the other, “Servire con Lode” is also a tool to provide the enthusiasm and dynamism, which is typical of the university world, to Voluntary Organizations.

The Chamber of Commerce, the Confindustria of Piedmont and the Politecnico di Torino signed an agreement for the inclusion of students and graduates in companies with principal or secondary offices abroad, because they think that an internship abroad could be a training period that further qualifies the studies at Politecnico.

The agreement also aims to increase the employment opportunities in international companies, to promote and support the launch of research projects and collection of materials for the development of master or doctoral thesis and to promote career guidance paths.

In the afternoon, at 4:30 pm, there will be a meeting between the two Ministers, Chinese students of the Politecnico and some Italian students who did part of their studies in China thanks to the university’s collaboration projects with prestigious Chinese universities. The appointment is in the Lecture Hall of the Politecnico, in C.so Duca degli Abruzzi, 24.
There will be also a presentation of the Politecnico and the I3P projects, moreover it will be also possible to visit the laboratories of General Motors Global Propulsion Systems in the Cittadella Politecnica.
