The education and university ministers have recently proposed a reform concerning access to teaching after graduating. Briefly, they aim at requiring 60 ECTS and a part of them is to be used for an internship. Students who are interested in teaching will obtain those ECTS, which are normally part of an
ordinary degree course: 36 will concern the didactic sector and 24 will concern the internship in schools.
This procedure will enable interested students to obtain the license to teach and to participate in public exams to be hired. Public exams consist in one written exam with a multiple-choice test. The public exam will then be followed by a probationary period and, in case of a positive outcome, a hiring.
