Exhibition of the works by Attilio Taverna

Sala delle Colonne, Castello del Valentino – Viale Mattioli 39, Torino

Attilio Taverna’s exhibition, called “math-art: doppia vita della luce”, will be open to the public from 3rd to 20th November at the Castle of Valentino (opening on 3rd November 2015 at 5 pm).

Almost fifteen years after the last esthetic-scientific provocation, represented by the optical and perceptive experience, Taverna’s research revives today the bet on the fruitful bond between arts and science, with an elaboration that reinvents the pictorial language of abstraction in the light of the contributions given by the quantum physics.

Taverna’s research, which has already received important awards in the international scientific field, can represent a good chance for contemporary art, which is, now more then ever, looking for new directions. This is the argument pursued by the DIST (Interuniversity Department of regional and urban studies and planning of Polytechnic University and University of Turin) and the DISMA (Department of mathematical sciences “Giuseppe Luigi Lagrange” of Polytechnic University of Turin) departments, the creators of this exhibition, through the explication of interdisciplinary languages between arts and science.
