Almalaurea is an Association of Universities consisting of 72 Italian Universities, that is collecting information and opinions by graduates, so as to know their academic path and their job conditions.
Moreover, graduates’ CVs are put on the internet, to promote the link between supply and demand in labor markets.


 

Almalaurea released a 2016 Report on the Job Conditions of graduates from Università di Torino and Politecnico di Torino. Below come some data:


 

Università degli Studi di Torino – Unito

Graduates were 11.598 in 2015 (6.621 with a first-level degree, 3.616 with a two-years Master’s degree, 1,152 with a five-year

degree).

Students’ background and places where they come from: foreign students represents 4.1% of the total amount: 4.1% for the first-level degree, and 4.5% for two-years Master’s degree. 16% of graduates doesn’t come from Piedmont; particularly, 10% in the first-level degree and 31% in the two-years Master’s degree.

Academic path’s results: 53 students out of 100 get to the end of their course: in detail, 51% in the first-level degree and 62% in the two-years Master’s degree. The average score at graduation is 101,5 out of 100; in detail, 98,1 for first-level graduates and 107,0 for two-years Master’s graduates.

Experiences during the course: 65% of graduates carried out an internship during their study course: 67% among first-level graduates and 70% among two-years Master’s graduates (this rate is growing up to 77%, if we consider people who only carried it out during the first-level degree).
Students who studied abroad during their academic path(Erasmus mostly)represent 10% of graduates: 7% among first-level students and 14% among two-years Master’s students.

 


 

 

Work conditions of Università di Torino graduates

The survey on work conditions encompasses 20.420 graduates from Università di Torino in total.
Even if many graduates, 48%, go on studying to a Master’s degree, the employment rate hit 74%, and the average wage is 1086 euros per month (after taxes)

After a year

76% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2014, included those working in a paid training, are currently employed.
The unemployment rate is 17%, considering the available workforce.
32 employees out of 100 have a secure job (permanent and independent job).
They earn 1.125 € per months (after taxes) and the effectiveness is 43%.

After 3 years

86% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2012 is currently employed. The unemployment rate is equal to 9%. The employees with a secure job represent 54%. Their salaries can reach 1.240 € per month (after taxes). Effectiveness involves 47 postgraduates out of 100.
But where do they go to work? 76% of postgraduates is working in the private sector, while 16% works in the public one. The left percentage (7%) is working in non-profit organizations. 80% works in the services sector, while 16% of them works in the Industry. Just a little part of them works in the agriculture sector.

After 5 years

87% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2010 is currently employed. The unemployment rate is equal to 8%. The employees with a secure job represent 72%. Their salaries can reach 1.371 € per month (after taxes). Effectiveness involves 53 postgraduates out of 100.
But where do they go to work? 78% of postgraduates is working in the private sector, while 15% in the public one. The left percentage(7%) is working in non-profit organizations. 79% works in the service sector, while 18% of them worksin the Industry. Just a little part of them works In the agriculture sector.

 


 


Politecnico of Torino

Students who graduated in 2015 at Università di Torino Politecnico are 6.250, 3.229 at the first-level and 3.012 at the Master’s Polito_02degree.
Where do they come from, and their educational background: people coming from other countries amount to 11.5%: 9.1% in the first-level University, and 14.1% in the Master’s degree. 37% of students is coming from a different region: in particularm 35% In the first-level and 39% in the Master’s degree.

STUDIES RESULTS: the average age when they graduate is 25 years old: 23,9 at the first level and 26,2 at the second level. What affects this process is the fact that they submit their application later: in fact not every graduate starts to study right after their diploma.
51 graduates out of 100 ends the current university: 53% at the first level and 50% at the second level.
The average graduation score is 98,6 out of 110: 94,5 at the first level and 103,1 at the second level.
Their experiences during their studies: 44% of graduates went on internships related to their academic paths: 42% at the first level and 46% at the second level (if we consider only the students who go on an internship only during the first three years, this value goes up to 69%).
Official Study experiences abroad (mainly Erasmus) encompass 17% of graduates: 7% during the first three years and 27% during the second two (if we consider only the students who studied abroad in the first three years, this value goes up to 31%).
57% of graduates worked during their academic year, both at the first level and at the second.


Job Conditions of Graduates at Politecnico di Torino

The survey on the job conditions encompassed 10.796 graduates at Università di Torino Politecnico in total. It’s mainly focused on the performances of graduates and postgraduates who finished their course in 2014, who have been interviewed one year later, and on those of postgraduates who finished their course in 2010 and 2012 who have been interviewed respectively five and three years later.

After a year

85% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2014, included those working in a paid training, are currently employed.
The unemployment rate is 11%, considering the available workforce.
41 employees out of 100 have a secure job (permanent and independent job).
They earn 1.353 € per months (after taxes) and the effectiveness is 56%.

After 3 years

94% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2012 is currently employed. The unemployment rate is equal to 3%. The employees with a secure job represent 70%. Their salaries can reach 1.511 € per month (after taxes). Effectiveness involves 62 postgraduates out of 100.
But where do they go to work? 95% of postgraduates is working in the private sector, while 4% works in the public one. The left percentage (1%) is working in non-profit organizations. 42% works in the services sector, while 56% of them works in the Industry. Just a little part of them works in the agriculture sector.

After 5 years

94% of postgraduates who finished their course in 2010 is currently employed. The unemployment rate is equal to 4%. It’s a similar situation to the previous one. The employees with a secure job represent 86%. Their salaries can reach 1.681 € per month (after taxes). Effectiveness involves 62 postgraduates out of 100.
But where do they go to work? 93% of postgraduates is working in the private sector, while 5% in the public one. The left percentage(1%) is working in non-profit organizations. 43% works in the service sector, while 55% of them works in the Industry. Just a little part of them works In the agriculture sector.
