Electric scooters and segways have finally arrived in Torino, as one of the city’s many projects to combat pollution. Eight private companies are currently in charge of rentals, in different areas of the city. You can locate the scooters by using the app, and unlock them by reading the QR code on the handlebar.
You can choose from these eight apps:
· Bird
This Californian start-up has been working in the United Stated and in Europe since 2017. It offers a free-flow sharing of electric scooters, and after a trial period in other Italian cities it has finally arrived in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.29 per minute

· BIT mobility
An Italian sustainable mobility project registered in March 2019 and based in Bussolengo (VR). Its electric scooters are available for rental in Torino, as a solution for short-distance trips.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute. You can make stops and park your scooter at a price of €0.05 per minute.
The app is available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

· Circ
This German company has been working in micro mobility since 2018, and has now brought 500 electric scooters to Torino. Rental will be available thanks to a free-floating sharing service.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.19 per minute.
A second option is to purchase a package (or pass) that allows unlimited use for an hour, at the price of €4.90. Two passes allowing unlimited use for a week cost €5.90, and two passes allowing unlimited use for a month cost €14.90. In the last two cases, you will only be charged for the minutes of actual use.

· dott
Dott is a start-up based in Amsterdam and founded in 2018 that works in shared mobility. Its electric scooters are now available for rental in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Helbiz
Italian-American urban transport company based in New York. It was the first company to launch electric scooters for rental in Italy. It has arrived in Torino in December 2019.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Hive
German company working in micro mobility since 2018. It has brought 500 electric scooters to Torino. They are painted a fluorescent yellow colour, which makes them easily recognisable.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

· Lime
Founded in the United States in 2017, this company offers free-flow transportation devices. 300 of their electric scooters are now available in Torino.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.25 per minute.

· Tier
Sustainable mobility is Tier’s ultimate goal. The company, based in Berlin, has brought its scooters to Torino in December 2019.
Cost: €1 to unlock the scooter €0.15 per minute.

Electric scooters and segways are allowed:

· inside “Zona 30
· on bicycle paths
· in streets where the speed limit is 30 km/h, as indicated by road signs
· inside “ZTL” (Limited Traffic Zone)

Map of the main routes
Riding electric scooters is not allowed in pedestrian zones (Via Garibaldi, for example)
The following is strictly forbidden:

· NO riding the scooters on sidewalks
· NO riding along or under city porticoes
· NO riding against the flow of traffic
· NO being towed by other vehicles
· NO more than one person per scooter
